TO THE HONORABLE MEMBERS OF THE SULLIVAN COUNTY LEGISLATURE: The 2008 tentative budget is respectfully submitted for your review. I have found it a privilege to manage our County workforce that is comprised of dedicated hard-working individuals that provide services to our citizenry each day. To these dedicated workers, I say �Thank You� for all that you do on a daily basis for the County, our businesses, and our citizens. I want to acknowledge the effort put forth by the budget team of Commissioner Josh Potosek and his staff, along with the dedicated commissioners and department heads of the county.
During 2008, the fiscal management functions will convert to the New World software that will provide enhanced tracking of revenues and expenditures, as well as, provide the ability to enforce rules on encumbrances and reduction of spending.

Right-wing whacko groups in the U.S. wasted no time in venting their outrage with Abu Dhabi's 8 percent purchase of AMD stock announced recently. One AMD investor, said in a blog posting that he will be making "his anger known to AMD this coming week in a couple of personal emails and if I sense that even more of AMD will be going to Muslim interests, I will be selling my stock and submitting AMD to the boycott Islam company list." .

Jim Sterne is the president of the Web Analytics Association and producer of the eMetrics Summits. We asked him a few questions about the state of the industry and how companies could be making better use of their analytics data. --------------------- How well are companies doing Web Analytics now, compared to a year or two ago? In two years, there�s been a lot of progress. It�s been great. But asking how well companies 'get' web analytics is the same question as asking how well companies get being online. Some get it really well, and some remain clueless. We were in Stockholm a few weeks ago for eMetrics and there was a panel session about which countries were in the lead. Online, people said the US, then the UK, Scandinavia, Germany and so on. But in web analytics, everyone agreed that among leading companies, some are doing fabulous things and some don�t have a clue, and that�s pretty much evenly distributed across the world.
